January Happenings

Is it just me... or did January simply fly by?

I had all these plans of how I was going to take cute pictures of Eithan and put them on here and show you all how simply adorable he is... and then I realized that I hadn't taken any pictures of him since the 18th (his 2 month day).

I realize that this isn't really a horrible thing, but it feels like it sometimes when you want to document their lives so that they can look back and see what they were like, and so that we can remember.

Thus, on the last day of January- I took a few pictures (2 to be exact). And they turned out pretty well, even if I do say so myself.

We keep trying to tell him that the toys are ABOVE him, but he still thinks that the other items in the room are more interesting.

The Most Precious Smile EVER!

So there are the TWO pictures I took, so that there were at least some pictures of him in January, and they I remembered- we had a couple more from before that I didn't show you guys.

Carseat Eithan

He really does quite well in his carseat,
it is a dream at putting him to sleep.
Slide him in,
buckle him up,
BAM sleeping baby.
Amazing.

Mommy showing him off in his cute clothes. Plus, I had to show you guys that I really do get dressed every once in a while.

And we needed a "mommy and me" photo.

Doesn't he look so good in blue??

Life here is really good. We are all healthy, happy people. In fact, Eithan has not been sick at all. Which I am very grateful for. I need him to stay healthy until I can get him immunized.

Which is a whole other ball of wax. You guys should let me know if you want me to write a post on immunizations. My dad introduced me to a book that is really quite interesting.

Collin is still working and driving- working and driving some more. He does ALOT of driving.

I am still at home cleaning and cooking- cleaning and cooking some more. (Did I mention that I hate cooking? Well I do, but it is cheap and tastes better. Oh what we women go through...)

Alright guys- I'll post again soon with more lovely photos.

2 Months

Due to a certain wonderful sister-in-law (Erin)
who has inspired me with her creative spirit...
I am going to do monthly photos of Eithan.

I found these absolutely adorable "month stickers" on Etsy.
(Go to Etsy and search for Purple Possom, and you'll find the store.)

Here are some of those photos... I chose three because
they represent the little munchkin so well.

Simply Adorable Eithan

Classic Eithan
(Meaning... he does this face often.)

Too Cute For Words Eithan

And a quick update on the munchkin:
*He absolutely loves to snuggle, especially when he's sleeping.
(Thus we have gotten into a habit of
having him sleep on our chests a lot.)

*He has started to sleep 4 hours and more during the day,
but still wakes up every 3 at night.

*He is getting good at lifting his head and
putting it back down softly, but still loves to
head bang us when he's hungry.

*Loves the Christmas lights that we have left up for him on the wall, it is one of the first things he looks at when he's awake.
(I just don't have the heart to take them down.)

*Is finally growing out of Newborn clothes and into 0-3 Months.
(This means a whole new wardrobe for Mommy,
and she is a little TOO excited about that. wink wink.)

*Seems to enjoy being read to, and will occasionally look at the pages of the book as we read. I'd like to think he's looking at the pictures, but that might be wishful thinking.

*Prefers MAM pacifiers over the others... who knew that babies would have such a preference?

And I can't think of anything else fun.. We are just really enjoying having him around and enjoying our new little family.

Bath Time Bliss

Doesn't everyone just LOVE bath time?

The Soap, The Bubbles,The Baby Bath Tub, The NAKED baby...

Yes, I believe we all love bath time.

So I decided to include some lovely NUDE pictures of my little one during bath time.(wink wink)

I can't say that I know exactly what Eithan is thinking here...
but I can't imagine that he is very pleased with me at the moment.
This should be called the "I'm Free" Face...
He was glad to be out of the tub by this point.
Ok, I LOVE this picture, but I have to tell you guys...
Collin lucked out and snapped this one right at the end of a SNEEZE, and this is what he got!
Mommy and Eithan spending some quality time...
If I'd known how dark those circles under my eyes were...
I would have put makeup on!

In all of this "Bliss" I have to fess-up.
The other day I was bathing him, and as I was undressing him to get into the tub... he peed on me. A LOT. Enough that I thought that I should go and change my shirt afterwards.
(Guess what... I didn't! Ugh)
I think he also pooped in the tub while I was bathing him.

In all of this getting clean business...
why is it that we always end up dirty?

Winks Christmas

I know that this post is super late in coming, but better late than never... right?

Christmas was wonderful for our family. We were able to go home and see both of our families. And we were able to take Eithan too! We were a little worried about that in the beginning, because if anyone had been sick... then we wouldn't have been able to take him anywhere.

We spent Christmas Eve with my family-- and of course I have absolutely no pictures of that (It wouldn't have been too exciting, though- Eithan mostly slept and ate and slept again.) Then we spent Christmas morning with Collin's family-- and that, I have pictures of! So... here we go.

Collin and I Christmas morning. I have to admit, it wasn't until later that I thought, "I should have held eithan up to be in the picture." Oh well..
Eithan and his cousin Brody in their adorable Christmas outfits- this was the best shot of them all, but I should have included them all because Brody tries to hold Eithan's hand, and then Eithan tries to eat Brody's hand, and then Eithan decides that he's had enough and starts screaming--- it was classic.
Why I didn't hold Eithan up in the family photo above- he was sleeping on my lap totally zonked out, not even the noise of everyone opening their presents disturbed him.
My present is bigger than me! (Well---almost)
And then, of course, the I must eat during the middle of everything picture. Literally we were still in the middle of opening presents, oh well--- who can deny that adorable face??

We hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

1 Month

Today Eithan is officially 1 month old! Time is simply flying by, and yet it doesn't seem like much has happened at all. (Does that make sense?)

I decided earlier this month to do a little photo shoot of my own with Eithan. He was sooo good during the whole process, and because of that I was able to get some of these adorable photos. I have more, but I have to 'fix' them up still.

Here is Eithan's 1 Month photo. (I have to give credit for the 1 month picture idea to Collin's sister Erin- Thank you for being so creative all the time!)

We are all doing well, and we are excited for Christmas. Though, does it seem that as we get older that it just doesn't take such an importance in our lives like it used to? I want to work on that, because this truly is the time of year to be celebrating the birth of our Savior and remembering that it is HIM that we all desire to return to.

We love you all, ENJOY the pictures!

Achievements

Life as a mommy is much harder than I expected it to be. I'm tired all the time, my breasts hurt, I can't seem to keep my house clean, and no matter what I do... there is always something that I'm behind on or needs to be done. So... in spite of all that... I decided that I needed to remind myself of the things that I do and what I do accomplish.

1. All of my pump stuff is washed and clean right now.
2. I gave Eithan a bath all by myself... and didn't hurt anyone in the process.
3. Eithan actually breastfed on the breast this evening, amazing!
4. The house is semi-decorated for Christmas.
5. I folded some laundry and did some dishes.
6. I have provided lots of milk for my little one through pumping.
7. Eithan was given "Tummy Time" tonight and actually worked on lifting his head and body.
and finally... 8. I haven't gone crazy yet! (wink wink)

All the little things count right? So keep it up moms of the world, because if my little list is an accomplishment, then all the things that we get done everyday are accomplishments as well!

12:50 AM

This is for all those mothers out there that I never really appreciated until moments like this....

I woke up Eithan at 11:30 PM to feed him (yes, I do really wake him up to eat.) He breastfed for a few minutes, then ate some from a bottle... and decided he was full. I took him back to bed with Collin so that I could pump. When I get back, he is still wide awake and looking around... not interested in going to bed at all.

Now, here I am... on my couch at 12:50 AM holding my little one and waiting for him to fall asleep. Yet despite all that... I still think he's the cutest little thing out there.
