Vacation - Part 2

Hello Everybody!

I apologize for not posting sooner than this, but life gets crazy as you all know... plus I've been working on some apartment improvement projects... who knew refinishing furniture would be so time consuming?? Anywho... here are some pictures of the rest of our vacation.. it was a blast, but I'm glad we're home. (I know you all know what I mean.)

{1} Ikea!!!

You guys gotta love my "drive by" photos. I forgot to take any while we were actually IN the store (duh!)... but I got the outside of the store on our way back to our hotel later.

This was my FIRST time to Ikea. One Word: WONDERFUL!
We spent 4 hours there... and then came back the next day for another 2 hours. Oh.. if only I had more money! I could seriously have spent way more than I did. It's a good thing I had a budget!

{2} Temple Square

Isn't this view of the temple amazing?
We were in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building on the 10th Floor.
I couldn't believe how breathtaking a view it was from up there.

I had to throw this one in there because of Eithan's face.
He is a man of many, many faces... and he happened to do one right at this moment.

Here we all are with my mom (Jan).
{Of course, Eithan wasn't looking at the camera.. silly boy.}

Finally, Eithan and myself in front of one of the original entrances to the Salt Lake Temple.
I always forget how big these doors are, and they are so cool too!
It is simply amazing what all those people did with their hands back in the day.

{3} Frontsight- 2 Day Defensive Hand Gun Course

Collin and my dad (John-looking @ us) practicing gun safety.

Some people might think that the fact that I went to this gun safety/defensive hand gun course is weird.

Let me tell you... it's not.

This is probably one of the most beneficial courses I have ever taken in my life.
I now handle a gun much more comfortably.
I feel comfortable having guns around me.{if they are being handled correctly}
And I know (to some extent) how to protect myself with a gun.

{I didn't have any pictures of me shooting... so here's a video.}

I am glad that my dad made me go. And I'm glad that I went.
{To all those who may be concerned by this point...
No Eithan was not there with us....
He'll get to go when he's older... :) }

All in all, the vacation was great. We had a good time... we're glad to be home... and we hope you all enjoy seeing what we did while we were gone.

Vacation - Part 1

I simply wanted to post some pictures of our vacation.
So you guys can see what we are up to down here in UTAH.

{1} We went to the LIVING PLANET AQUARIUM...

1 word: AMAZING

Eithan and Mommy with the "Jellies"

Again, Eithan and Mommy with the "Jellies"
(You can't see these ones.. there way down in the tank)

Grandpa Rose, Daddy and Eithan checking out some fish.

Daddy and Eithan enjoying some big frogs.

Collin was able to touch a sting ray... it was so cool!

{2} We went to my brother's house in PARK CITY

My nephews had a blast with Eithan- and it was so cute seeing them
play with him that we had to take pictures of it.
Korban- thinking Eithan and the game was so fun.

Korban, Addison, and Camden surrounding Eithan in their play.

{3}Eithan had applesauce for the FIRST time.

Applesauce Mustache = Delicious Time

All in all- we are having a good time and loving our family!

5 Months

Today was a really difficult photo shoot day.

I want you all to understand how difficult.

Example #1

Example #2

All of these faces

(and more....)

so that we can have...

What a little silly goose, huh?

Eithan Happenings:
- Started to roll over (back to tummy and tummy to back)
but only does it sporadically

- "Scooches" a little while he is on his tummy

- Learned how to scream hysterically
we're talking bloody-murder scream here people

- Is enjoying eating veggies
mom and dad are not enjoying the new diapers (wink wink)

- Has really figured out his hands now
grabbing for toys, burp clothes, jewelry, etc.

- LOVES chewing on things
we don't think he's teething quite yet, because he's not drooling a lot,
but who knows?

- Has decided laying on his back is no longer cool and wants to be held sitting or standing up

- Still wakes up at least once during the night
and often gets restless until we flip him over (like a pancake)

- Still our sweet, lovable, adorable baby boy

Eating Green Beans for the FIRST time... and other things

We gave Eithan baby food for the first time on April 13th 2011. He experienced GREEN BEANS. yummmm...

I'm including a video of him eating it...

it's hilarious....

as they always are.

What's even more amusing about it is
that he actually started to enjoy eating them after a while.

These may become a staple around here from now on!

Ok, now on to today. I really needed to cut Eithan's finger nails, so I had daddy distract him while I was doing this.

And even after trying to be as careful as I could be,
I snipped off part of his finger.

What was simply amazing is that he only wimpered a little
and then kept eating his bottle.

I think Collin and I were more distraught than he was.

I am including a picture of his bandaid.

This is shortly after the "event"-
he is still as curious and excited as ever.

And finally, Collin took a cute picture of Eithan.
He is holding his little "rattle" teddy bear close.

Close enough to chew on...
if this darn pacifier weren't in the way.

Sitting Up

I know that he's giving us a bit of a funny face, but that's what makes it classic...right?

Cleaning the Master Bathroom

So, this morning I decided it was finally time to tackle the master bathroom.
I haven't cleaned it in quite a while. {Don't ask me how long... it's gross.}

While I was cleaning, I decided it was time to give the floors a good scrubbing.

I mean a GOOD scrubbing.

I want to show you what I was able to accomplish with our floors.

See that line there?? That is the difference between where I scrubbed, and where I did not.

I know..... Impressive.

I only had energy to do half the bathroom. So, tomorrow the other half is going to be tackled.

Dirt and Grime Here I Come! You don't stand a chance!

{P.S. I feel like it is important to say that our floors came this way when we moved in. I didn't realize I could get that dirt out until my mom showed me how- amazing what 409 can do!}

Morning

7:30 AM- Eithan starts waking up; Collin and I aren't ready to get out of bed... pull Eithan into bed with us, sleep lightly because we are getting tickled or kicked by little fingers and feet.

8:00 AM- Eithan is really awake, and wants to eat. He goes in between happy, smiley boy to frowning at us for not getting his food fast enough.

8:15 AM- Feed Eithan

8:30 AM- Change Eithan's Diaper

8:35 AM- Try to get Eithan to eat more from his bottle, but he's so happy to be awake that he's not that interested anymore.

9:00 AM- Mom finally gets to pump- whew!

9:15 AM- Now what do we do???

9:30 AM- Eithan gets a bath- he splashes around and decides that bath time is quite nice.

10:00 AM- Eithan is cranky and tired now... time for a nap.

10:00 AM- ??? He sleeps restlessly because it's light outside and wants to be awake- we'll see how long he sleeps for right now. I can hear his breathing through the baby monitor and I'm hoping I have a few more minutes before he wakes up.

In all of this, I should be doing something more productive than blogging, but I'm not. I'm tired too. I'd take a nap, but Eithan will only be asleep for a little while more- and then it's just depressing because I only would be able to lay down for like 5 minutes.

And that- is a morning with Eithan and Joy.

{P.S. Right after I posted this... Eithan woke up- Why didn't I do the dishes instead??}
