Train Ride in the Columbia Center Mall

Tuesday July 24

Columbia Center Mall is experimenting.
I guess in 'bigger' malls they have rides in the mall.
(I missed out on the info)

So, Columbia Center is trying it out.
My mom decided that Eithan had to have a ride.
I heartily agreed.

{Thinks he's excited?}

The Conductor telling us to keep our feet on the floor.
{He obviously doesn't have children.}

It was a lot of fun.
The train played this really loud Choo Choo song.
We smiled and waved to the people in the mall.
The Conductor cut off an elderly gentleman and got us a dirty look.
And Eithan loved it!
He was not happy that we had to get off.
But at $3.50 a ride... it was a one time only thing!

Kennewick- Slurpee Capital of the World?

Tuesday July 24

Did you know when you google Kennewick, WA
that Wikipedia brings up the idea that Kennewick is the Slurpee Capital of the World?

I decided that we needed to check this out.

So, we went to the 7-Eleven
(3606 W. Clearwater)

Collin and I both remember this 7-Eleven from frequenting it when we were younger.

We discovered a whole wall of Slurpee machines.

16 Different Flavors!

They have a big sign hanging over the cash register...

saying...

"Kennewick is the KING of Kool!"
World's #1 Slurpee Store
(even though this isn't really true...)

But we bought some anyway!
And now we can say that we went to the 'kinda' #1 Slurpee Store in the World.

P.S. Canada still holds the record according to Wikipedia.

Black Eye

July 15 2012

Eithan has officially received his first black eye.
He was climbing on the couch {up and down, up and down}
At one point he lost his footing, and 'bang' his little face hit the window sill ledge.

I felt so bad for the little guy.
And his face just keeps looking worse and worse as the bruise spreads out.

To top it all off, he later pinched his leg on the recliner and we thought he had broken it.
Fortunately he hadn't, but it took driving all the way home to find that out from his Pediatrician.
{ugh}

I have the feeling, though, that this is the beginning of many more 'owies' to come.

Quick Update

July 10th 2012

Life has been a little busy around here.
First, Collin is at Scout Camp, so Eithan and I are with my folks hanging out until he gets done.

Second, I have a list of projects I am trying to get done while Collin is gone and I am at my parents.

Third, Eithan has decided that change is not a good thing, and has become a totally different boy since we left home and it has been difficult to get anything done. {besides exercise}

So, there has been nothing really exciting, we kinda missed the 4th... thus no pictures.. and now we're just trying to get all the little things done that we need to while we're here.
{like shopping!}

I did get a new hair cut... and Eithan has been loving the 60 inch TV.. Sesame Street is huge on this thing! Life is all good, we're happy to be here with family and hanging out.

I'll try and post more pictures soon. Hopefully of something a little more exciting!
